VirginBlue: Sydney to Melbourne fares for $78 return, inc tax!

And now onto some other exciting VirginBlue news – we have detected $39 fares between Sydney and Melbourne (Tullamarine) between 27 July – 23 September on Adioso. Please note that Tiger Airways’ $39 Sydney – Melbourne fares also appear during this period. Choice! Visit Adioso for details.

All this further confirms my suspicion that Jetstar will have to sooner or later face the truth regarding the use of Avalon as a Melbourne base. Either they step up by providing competitive prices, or fly into Tullamarine themselves. Sadly, I cant imagine that Jetstar will have a profitable run servicing Geelong alone.
